Kimberly Cates (Past Speaker)

Kimberly Cates is a Head of Enterprise Innovation, NA for Johnson & Johnson.  In this position Kimberly supports research and development teams within Johnson & Johnson Innovation, Health and Technology, and Consumer.  In her time with Johnson and Johnson, Kimberly was instrumental in developing the Enterprise Digital Talent Strategy Toolkit, to assist HRBPs globally in developing and implementing digital talent strategies in support of their business partners digital transformation. As a highly respected member of Johnson and Johnson’s HR community, she is known for working across sectors, regions, and functions to execute change and deliver innovation.  

Prior to joining Johnson and Johnson, Kimberly was the Director of Change Management and Organizational Transformation for the City and County of San Francisco, where she was responsible for establishing the System Division’s Change Management team and overseeing a team of change management, learning and system support professionals executing organizational transformation projects across 70K employees.  

Prior to her work at the City and County of San Francisco, Kimberly worked for Apple as a Change Management Lead, leading global change management projects.  She also spent time with CBRE as the Cisco Change Management Account Lead, responsible for overseeing global workplace environment change programs developed to drive employee innovation.  Kimberly also spent time with top consulting firms, PwC and Booz Allen Hamilton, as a change management and organizational transformation consultant focused on organizational strategy and effectiveness. 

Prior to moving into consulting, Kimberly worked with the FBI in intelligence and spent several years in immigration most notably helping a large organization navigate and respond to the post-September 11th immigration policy and processes changes.

Kimberly holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science and a Master’s in Public Policy from Pepperdine University.
