Struan Robertson (Past Speaker)

Struan Robertson is the Vice President of Human Resources for Bio-Techne. Bio-Techne is an aging Bio-Tech that recently embarked on a dramatic growth spurt with 15 acquisitions and an employee explosion from 1200 to 2300 in just the last 5 years.

Born in New Zealand where locals are known as Kiwis, Struan moved to Australia to attend university and after graduating spent the next 15 years working in banking and insurance.

In 2002 he moved to the United Kingdom and established his own consultancy in Human Performance specifically for organizations experiencing massive change.

A little over 4 years ago Struan was lured to the US by a long term client to take on a completely new kind of challenge as head of HR.

As he had no formal HR experience he brought an element of blue sky thinking to all aspects or traditional HR thinking and practice. Some of which worked out well!!

Of his many passions he ranks his family, friends, motorcycles, guitars, rugby, painting and good cocktails as among his favorites although not always in that order.
